Attitude: Smile and have fun! We may not admit it but we all dream of being on stage at some point in our lives. Now you have the chance to fulfill that dream. Equipment: Please respect the equipment. Please do not swing, bang or tap the microphones for any reason. When the microphone is supposed to be on, your host will turn it on. Don't tamper with the equipment or request slips. Judging: Contestants will be judged via audience applause and two (2) judges. There are three categories. They are: voice, presentation and stage presence on a scale of 1-10. Ten being the highest score possible. Language: Songs containing explicit language will not be allowed by contestants. Participation: All patrons are encouraged to give it a try regardless of how good or bad you may think your singing is. Feel free to sing along from your seats as the words appear across the monitors, but don't try to overpower the singer. Dancing to the music is not only welcomed, it is complimentary to the singer. Preliminaries: Will be held the first two hours/Last two hours of the night. If you miss the first night of preliminaries, two (2) alternate spots will be reserved the week. These will be assigned on first come, first serve basis. Song Selection: The song you choose must be from the Starfire Karaoke library. If we do not have the song you would like to sing, let us. If you have it, bring it in and we will copy it to put in our library. If not, let us know and we will make every effort to acquire it and include it in our library. Our library has been posted to our website (www.StarfireMusic.com) so you can browse at your leisure. You will be able to select two (2) songs of your choosing and one (1) roulette style (song chosen from the “Song Bucket”. There will be two (2) “Song Buckets”. One (1) for female contestants and one (1) for male contestants. The “Song Bucket” selections will be chose by Starfire Entertainment. Contestants will be allowed to return their first selection. Contestants must sing the second selection chosen. Once contestants have signed in with their chosen song, you will not be able to change your selection. So please be sure of the song you wish to sing. Unruly Behavior: Don't heckle or interfere with any performer. Please don't try to join any performance unless you were asked to do so before the song started. Don't forget your turn is coming. If you don't promptly acknowledge your turn, you may be skipped, as there are others waiting their turn.
Above all else, Karaoke is meant to be fun and not serious. Treat it as such and you'll have a good time. Have fun & happy singing!
